The Army has established standardized procedures by which an eligible surviving spouse may obtain unescorted access, as appropriate, to military installations in order to receive benefits to which the eligible surviving spouse may be entitled by law or policy. Additionally, the Army has established procedures by which the next of kin of a covered member of the Army may obtain access to military installations. This is in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of Fiscal Year (FY) 2018. Applicable portion is Section 626.
To assist eligible next of kin, who do not possess a military ID card the Army established the Survivor Access Card. This card is intended for recognition and installation access to receive services, attend events, view memorials, and similar activities. To obtain or renew a Survivor Access Card, please complete the APPLICATION FOR SURVIVOR ACCESS CARD (IMCOM Form 44) and submit the form to your Survivor Outreach Services Coordinator. This is the first step to obtaining a Survivor Access Card.
