Mission

The Career Program 29 Proponency Office develops, promotes and executes methods, procedures, programs and strategies that enable a diverse, agile and highly competent installation management profession to support Total Army readiness.

Who We Are

Career Program 29, Installation Management, is composed of more than 24,000 professionals in 60 plus occupational series.

Professionals work across a broad spectrum of services and capabilities, directly and indirectly supporting Army readiness through the management, integration and synchronization of garrison services. They perform multiple functions in support of policy development, administration, management and operation of Army installations and delivery of programs and services.

The functions of Career Program 29 professionals include installation policy development and administration, management of installations (deputies to the garrison commander, garrison managers and similar roles), installation operations (Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security), management of Soldier and Family Programs and Services (Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Army Community Service, Child and Youth Services, sports and fitness, recreation, business operations, etc.), commissary management, cemetery administration, strategic planning and business process engineering, range operations, a wide range of blue collar occupations to include electrical installation and maintenance, structural and finishing work, metal work, painting, plumbing and pipefitting, printing, carpentry and wood working, custodial, equipment maintenance and repair, and plant and animal services.
